My brain is kind of all over the place. A few thoughts:
I enjoyed listening to the Vice Presidential debate tonight. Although I still lean more towards Obama (haven’t completely made up my mind), I was happy that Sarah Palin did a good job. Even if she did use the word “maverick” waaaay too frequently.
Wendy Mullin’s Sew U: Home Stretch came in for me from Interlibrary Loan (hoorah!). I absolutely love it and want to own it. I’m going to try altering some old T-shirts that are too small or too big, just to see how it goes.
Next week’s menu is up, as are recipes are up for Italian Almond Cake, Parmesan and Basil-Stuffed Chicken Breasts, and Stromboli. I should also say that all of the recipes I’m posting are meant to serve 4-6 people (usually — I’m trying to remember to give that info), but they all multiply very well.
General Conference weekend is almost here — another hoorah! My three favorite things about conference weekend: all the inspiring and faith-bolstering messages, spending time with family, and food (of course). I’ve made twice-baked potatoes and pasta salad so far in anticipation; tomorrow or Saturday I’m going to make another stromboli, and I am also dying to try this recipe for pumpkin cream cheese with some apples. I’m thinking of taking Little Miss to the U-Pick orchard tomorrow, so this is good timing.
And speaking of General Conference, girlfriends, if you have not watched President Uchtdorf’s talk from the General Relief Society broadcast…DO IT! I’m pretty sure it’s my favorite talk of all time. Like Heather O. on Mormon Mommy Wars said, “That man can read the white pages and I would still feel the Spirit.” Dude, totally.
My last scatterbrained thought (for now): fabric…

Joel Dewberry’s Orchid Celery
Heather Ross’ Giant Octopi in Dark
Maija Louekari’s HO-HOI! in blue
Where is this U pick orchard anyways? That just sounds divine! It was good to see you the other day, even for a short minute!! I miss you very much my friend!
